Who said diamonds are a girl’s best friend?
It was great to hear a few weeks ago, that I won a diamond award by the WPJA, for a documentary style, wedding photograph of a lovely couple in London. Diamonds are probably appropriate, considering the occasions I photograph!
Shot in black & white, it shows my recently engaged clients enjoying a relaxed stroll along the walkway, with the Houses of Parliament in the background. This picture definitely shows how relaxed and happy they both are and also there is no mistaking that they are in London!
My first Hindu wedding!
The actual wedding was my first Hindu wedding experience, with five different events and locations, spanning over a week. Can you imagine? I was on my last legs by the end of it and can guess they may have been too! The last stop was none less than Highclere Castle, where they film Downton Abby. Needless to say, it was a grand affair. Chance to get some really natural photos
Going back to engagement shoots, I usually offer these free with a full coverage booking. It’s a chance for my clients to get used to me and visa versa. It’s also good to get out and about and fool around a bit if they want to. This way we can get some really great natural shots – take a peep at some other examples.
I can highly recommend an engagement shoot either in and around the Cotswolds or at your chosen wedding venue. It’s always best to wear neutral colours so as not to clash and of course is great for those camera-shy people out there. You also get to choose your preferred images, which is an added bonus.
We are very lucky in this part of the UK particularly to have some amazing countryside and buildings, which lend themselves to great photo opportunities. I’ve also known people to include their children, pets and for rural weddings & shoots, even the farm animals in the past! Probably best that this couple didn’t bring any sheep along!
